Have you always wanted to learn how to spin cotton? Have you always wanted to learn how to spin with a support spindle? In this 3-hour workshop, you'll learn the basics of spinning cotton on a support spindle. We'll sample several different types of cotton: top, ginned, punis, and from the boll. We’ll also talk about how people spin cotton in different parts of the world, and I will have a variety of support spindles to show and talk about. By the end of the class, you will have a good grasp of spinning cotton and using a support spindle. The materials fee includes a selection of cotton spinning fibers and brass Tahkli spindle for you to keep.
